Let the Worshipers Arise

3rd in a Series

Exaltation

The first Psalm in scripture declares the worshiper’s reason for exalting God:

The Lord is my strength

Psalm 21:13

Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength; we will sing and praise your might.

Psalm 30:1

I will exalt you, O Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.

The Lord gives me a reason to sing

Psalm 34:3

Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

Psalm 40:16

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “The Lord be exalted!”

The Lord saved me

Psalm 18:46

The Lord lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!

Psalm 70:4

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “Let God be exalted!”


When I exalt God:

I acknowledge God has always been over all.

Psalm 57:5

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 57:11

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 97:9

For you, O Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.

Psalm 99:2

Great is the Lord in Zion; he is exalted over all the nations.

Psalm 108:5

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth.

Psalm 113:4

The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens.

I declare God to always be the most important thing in my life.

Psalm 118:28

You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you.

Psalm 138:2

I will bow down toward your holy temple and will praise your name for your love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

Psalm 145:1

I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.

I call all who hear me to join in his praise.

Psalm 107:32

Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.

Psalm 148:13

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

His rightful place in my life

…gives me right perspective.

…removes my pride. (Luke 18:10-14)

…gives me purpose.
